As the Dean of Legal Literacy for The Little Lawyers, she is based in Miami but provide services throughout the world to empower kids with the law. A proud graduate of the renowned civil rights Howard University School of Law, Professor Ally, as her beloved students nicknamed her, is a leading education reform activist who consults with schools worldwide on how to introduce, teach and empower educators and kids to address issues of race, systemic racism, prejudice, legal literacy, diversity, and inclusion.
Formerly a teacher at several independent schools, including Ransom Everglades in Miami and Friends Academy in New York, Professor Ally’s passion for children has been a driving force in her life. She has always brought empowerment and legal literacy into her classroom. When she could not find the vital tools she needed in the classroom, Professor Ally, who holds an American Montessori Society Secondary Certification, did what any true Montessori would do. She created her own. Thus in 2016, she wrote and illustrated her first book Plessy a shoemaker makes his mark, which is the first children’s book breaking down the Supreme Court case which legalized systemic racism in America.
Currently, Professor Ally has an upcoming children’s book with her powerhouse co-author Clelia Gore, who is the Vice President and Literary Manager at Martin Literary Management. Professor Ally is the leading expert in teaching kids law and a children’s book writer focused on how laws impact the modern child, She is represented by Full Circle Literary Agency. She is a mother of two, a wife of one, and a spicy food aficionado.
