Allison Matulli—known to students as Professor Ally—is the Dean of Legal Literacy at The Little Lawyers, a global initiative based in Miami that empowers children to understand their rights and the law. A graduate of Howard University School of Law, she is a leading voice in legal literacy, education reform, and diversity and inclusion in schools.
A former educator at Ransom Everglades and Friends Academy, and a certified Montessori teacher, Professor Ally now consults with schools worldwide to help students and educators address issues of race, systemic racism, and justice through legal empowerment.
She is the first-ever Global Fulbright Scholar at Florida International University, conducting research across Colombia, Italy, and Trinidad & Tobago (FIU News). She also teaches at FIU as an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice.
Her book Your Freedom, Your Power: A Kid’s Guide to the First Amendment is a Junior Library Guild Selection and was named one of the Chicago Public Library’s Best Books of 2023. She has a forthcoming title co-authored with Clelia Castro-Malaspina, Vice President at Martin Literary, and is represented by Full Circle Literary.
Named one of Miami’s Most Prominent Black Women in Business and Industry (2023), she was recently featured in Legacy Magazine—read the feature here. She is also a mom of two and a proud spicy food lover.
